The 6th "Liu Kaiqu Award" International Sculpture Exhibition

Liu Yonggang winns Silver Award

The 6th ”Liu Kaiqu Award” International Sculpture Exhibition under the theme of Convergence & Fusion was opened in Wuhu Central Park, China on 14th January 2017. A total of 1255 sculpture projects from 430 artists was received from 34 countries and religions all over the world.
We are happy to announce that Liu Yonggang is this years winner of the silver award.

Liu’s award-winning work Gui (return) is a morphological fusion of typical ancient Chinese characters, inspired by the dualistic or dialectical monism idea of Xu and Shi, Yin and Yang. Gui is presented in its simple and original form and conveys the life reverting to its first state by removal of any external embellishment and through one’s own spiritual practice. For man at the very beginning is simple, pure and innocent. This primitive state reveals the essence or nature of Dao/Tao (way, path) or according to Taoism —— returning to simplicity and back to nature.
